BROOKLYN–The Grand Haven girls and boys’ teams finished 10th and 11th overall in the Division 1 cross country state finals on Saturday afternoon.

The meet was at the Michigan International Speedway.

Grand Haven junior Seth Norder finished as runner-up.

Norder came into the finals as the No. 1 ranked runner in Division 1. He finished with a time of 15:18.95, trailing only senior Benne Anderson from Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills. He finished with a time of 15:17.32.

In the boys’ division, Northville won the team competition with 122 points. They were followed by Traverse City Central with 196 points and Brighton in third place with 229. Grand Haven finished in 11th place with 348 points.

Following Norder for the Bucs was sophomore Ben Held (82nd), freshman Aron Gal (139th), senior Logan Vining (140th) and junior Roman Smith (179th).

Other top local runners included Reeths-Puffer Jaxon Allen, who came 43rd place while Mona Shores senior Caleb Branch finished in 99th. Sophomore Kye Grant, from Reeths-Puffer, came in 175th place.

In the girls’ division, Grand Haven had a 10th-place finish with 319 points.

Holland West Ottawa won the state title with 97 points. They were followed by Romeo with 172 points and Ann Arbor Pioneer with 196.

Top runners for the Bucs included sophomore Valerie Beeck (23rd), sophomore Addison Smith (79th), freshman Cianah Budnik-Ramos (129th), sophomore Abi Albright (132nd) and junior Payton Hosley (165th).

Mona Shores freshman Ellery Horness came in 68th place.
