MUSKEGON–The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team squeaked by the Aquinas College JV team on Tuesday, 77-74.
The game was played at MCC.
The Jayhawks had to battle a tough Aquinas team going back and forth the entire game.
The game came down to a last-second attempt by Aquinas to force overtime.
There were seven lead changes and eight ties during the course of the game.
At the end of the first half, the Jayhawks led 44-43.
MCC outscored Aquinas, 33-31, in the second half.
Sophomore Vern Nash from Muskegon led the Jayhawks with a team-high 21 points. Nash also contributed with f0ur assists and three rebounds.
Sophomore Jarvin Graham from Perspectives Joslin Campus in Chicago tossed in 17 points and grabbed three rebounds. Freshman guard Jadakiss Lewis from Kalamazoo chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and five rebounds.
Ravenna freshman Jacob May also hit double figures with 10 points. He also had 10 rebounds.
The Jayhawks, 3-1 overall, will be back in action at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23 when they host Grace Christian University.
