REED CITY — Ludington got off to a fast start, winning the first two sets in Wednesday night’s Division 2 district semifinal in Reed City against Cadillac but the Vikings stormed back to take the next three and eliminate the Orioles, 3-2.

“We played really well the first two sets, but going into the third set Cadillac started blocking, and we struggled to adjust,” said Ludington head coach Liz Holden.

“We had some tough calls that turned the last set around pretty fast, unfortunately. We played hard, but things just didn’t fall into place for us. We had an awesome season, and I am really proud of how much these girls improved.”

Maddy Vaara led the Orioles with 21 digs,31 kills, six blocks and two aces. Karlie Mesyar had 25 digs, two assists and one ace. Jordyn Anderson had 12 digs, 44 assists, five blocks, three kills and two aces.

Keelyn Laird had 22 digs, four assists, 13 kills and five blocks. Ashley McPike contributed three digs, four blocks and five kills. Olivia Lynn added three digs, five blocks and four kills.

Mia Voss added one dig, one block and one kill. Mya Bryant had two digs.
