CUSTER — Catholic Central’s girls volleyball team swept Pentwater, 3-0 in a Division 4 district quarterfinal match at Mason County Eastern on Monday night.

The Crusaders cruised after winning the first set, 25-18 and took the next two handily, 25-7 and 25-10.

Claire LaVigne led the Crusaders with 19 assists, had six aces, four kills and one block. Elana LaGuire followed with nine aces and five digs.

Natalie Rich and Claire Carlton had six kills apiece. Catherine Cone had four digs adn Lindsay Ladd had one block.

In the earlier semifinal match, Fruitport Calvary Christian recorded a 3-0 blitzing of Walkerville to move on to the semifinals Wednesday against Muskegon Heights at 5:30 p.m.

The Crusaders improved to 14-18 on the season and advanced to play in the district semifinal round on Wednesday night against Mason County Eastern at 7 p.m.
