The Ravenna girls basketball team held strong in a back-and-forth season opener against Coopersville on Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs edged out Coopersville with a 26-25 win.

Emma and Addy Gillard led the attack with seven points apiece. Emily Postema and Kara Postema added six points and four points, respectively.

Kara Drummond played critical defensive minutes in the fourth quarter to bolster the Bulldogs’ victory.

Ravenna (1-0) will host Holton on Friday.
