BIG RAPIDS–The Reeths-Puffer Rockets were saddled with a 41-34 setback at the hands of the Big Rapids Cardinals on Tuesday night.
The Cardinals raced out to a 17-7 lead after one quarter only to see the Rockets pull to within three points, 24-21, at the half.
After a scoreless third quarter by both teams, the Cardinals outscored R-P 17-13 in the final quarter to earn the victory.
Arial Walker led Reeths-Puffer with 11 points. Billie Tryska added eight points while Brooklyn Tornes added seven points and five rebounds. Sophia Hekkema had a solid game with eight points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Kelsie Gorzewicz led Big Rapids with 19 points.
