FREMONT — The visiting Spring Lake Lakers opened the girls basketball season with a balanced attack to take down Fremont 47-34 on Tuesday night.

The Lakers were led by Ella Andree with 13 points, five steals and three assists.  Brooke Bolthouse also had 13 points to go with two steals and eight rebounds.  Tessa Britt finished with eight points and eight rebounds while Clara Saunders added five points.  Alexa Carter and Emma Nicles each grabbed four rebounds.

Fremont, which was plagued by turnovers throughout the evening, was led by Jessica Bennett with 11 points and seven rebounds. Lily VandenBerg and Khaila Noordyke had six points each.

The Lakers’ home opener is Friday against Reeths-Puffer.
