LAKEVIEW–The Kent City girls basketball team made quick work of the Lakeview Wildcats on Friday evening as they cruised to a 68-17 win in a CSAA league game.
 
The game was played in Lakeview.
 
The combination of Kent City senior Lexie Bowers and junior Maddie Bowers were unstoppable. Bowers scored a game-high 19 points while Geers added 18.
 
Bowers finished with seven assists, seven steals and six rebounds while Geers hauled down six rebounds, had seven steals and three blocked shots.
 
Hannah Stellini chipped in eight points and Savannah Miller tossed in seven points for the Eagles.
 
Baylor Syrjala led Lakeview with six points.
 
Kent City jumped out to a 21-9 lead after one quarter of play and extended it to 35-15 by the half.
 
The Eagles’ defense threw a shutout in the third quarter, outscoring Lakeview 16-0 to carry a 51-15 lead into the fourth quarter.
 
Kent City (1-1, 1-0) hosts Muskegon on Tuesday in a non-league contest.
