FREMONT — The Ludington bowling teams traveled to Fremont for a match against the Packers Wednesday, with the boys finishing in a 15-15 tie while the girls lost 24-6.  

The Fremont girls won the first Baker game by 7 pins and the next Baker game by 4, winning both Baker games and taking a 10 – 0 lead.

The play continued to be close with Fremont losing the first regular game by 4 pins but took 3 of the individual points.

The girls took all the points in the last game and winning the match 24 – 6. Annika Yuhasz led the team with a 157 game and Sophia Romine added a 146.

Grace Ashley rolled the high game for the Ludington girls with a 160, while Rylee Hardenburgh recorded a 127, Sophia Rupp had a 96 while Karly Gokey contributed a 94.  

“The girls did okay in the first game, but I can see we need to do some work on the second,” said Ludington coach Maggie Bates. “Our bakers need work as well. I have complete confidence that things will come along as we progress in the season.”  

The Fremont boys started out strong by winning both the Baker games taking a 10 – 0 lead. They lost the first regular game by 7 pins but took 3 points. They lost the second game by 12 pins taking 2 points. They ended up splitting with Ludington with each team taking 15 points. Gabe VanVleet led the team with a 165 game and Kayden Johnson added a 161

Dominic Reamer rolled the high game for the Orioles boys team with a 182, while Cameron Fetters followed with a 166 and Damion Ott contributed a 165 game.  

“All in all the boys had really good games,” said Bates. “They really pulled it together as a team. It was good to see on the lanes.  We still have some work to do on our bakers, but I’m sure those are going to start coming along as well.”  

Ludington is next scheduled to roll against West Michigan Christian on Friday.
