MUSKEGON –The Muskegon Catholic Central boys’ basketball team bounced back from a previous blowout with one of their own on Thursday evening.

The Crusaders piled it on and shut down Hesperia, 61-19.

A quick 19-7 first-quarter lead propelled the Crusaders out front where they remained. The Crusaders were ahead 32-14 at the half.

Braden Gustin led the Muskegon Catholic Central offense with 20 points, five steals and four assists. Hunter Schrink threw in 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Chase Willer added 11 points.

Muskegon Catholic Central (1-1) will visit NorthPointe Christian on Tuesday.

Hesperia (0-3) hosts White Cloud on Monday.
