GRAND HAVEN — The Grand Haven Bucs got off to a strong start on Tuesday night thanks to some tough defense and some sharp shooting from behind the 3-point arc.

The Bucs led 25-12 after one quarter and cruised to an 81-60 victory over visiting Saginaw Arthur Hill.

“We hit five 3’s and played good defense in that first quarter,” Grand Haven coach Greg Immink said. By halftime, his team led 49-25.

Harrison Sorrelle led the way with 25 points, followed by Jess Basil with 15, Nate Stump with 14 and Will Korenstra with 10.

Dion Hardy poured in 27 points for Arthur Hill.

Grand Haven (3-0) hosts neighboring Spring Lake on Thursday.
