MUSKEGON–The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team got a much-needed win on Tuesday evening. The Jayhawks cruised by the Calvin University JV team, 93-74.

The Jayhawks had a hot shooting night, shooting 50 percent from the field, 35 percent from 3-point range and 89 percent from the free-throw line.

MCC raced out to a 51-31 halftime lead.

Vern Nash III (Muskegon) had a game-high 35 points to lead the Jayhawks offense.

Jarvin Graham (Perspectives Joslin Campus) and Jacob May (Ravenna) scored 21 points and 16 points, respectively.

MCC (5-3) will host the Alma College JV team on Tuesday.
