MUSKEGON–The Reeths-Puffer Rockets girls’ basketball team gave the Eastwood Kentwood Falcons all they could handle for three quarters on Saturday afternoon in a 53-38 loss.

The game was part of the Lakeshore Classic Hoops Summit at Reeths-Puffer High School.

Reeths-Puffer held a slim 13-12 lead after the first quarter of action.

The game was decided in a wild second quarter of offense in which East Kentwood put up 32 points while Reeths-Puffer scored 17 points. The Falcons held a 44-30 halftime lead.

The Rockets defense shutout East Kentwood in the third stanza. The only problem for the Reeths-Puffer offense was the Falcons defense also shutout the Rockets, thus East Kentwood went into the fourth quarter with a comfortable 14-point lead.

Brooklyn Tornes led Reeths-Puffer with 13 points while Sophia Hekkema chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds. Ariel Walker tossed in nine points.
