SPRING LAKE — The Spring Lake Lakers surged out of the blocks on Tuesday night and routed the visiting Sparta Spartans 74-43 in boys’ basketball action.

The victory was the 300th in the career for Coach Bill Core.

Spring Lake took control with a 21-4 lead after the first quarter and never was pressured.

Spring Lake (2-1, 1-0) had a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures. Leading the way were Zane Stahl and Karson George with 15 points each. Zach Schlepp added 12 points and Carter Ball had 10.

Wren Dephouse pulled down 10 rebounds and dished out five assists. Jax Bricker, who played a solid game on the defensive end, chipped in eight points.
