RAVENNA — Jumping out to a 22-7 lead early in the game, Hart never looked back in posting a 62-51 victory over Ravenna on the road Tuesday night in the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division.

But the Bulldogs made it interesting, closing the gap to just a 6-point deficit in the third quarter before the Pirates settled into a 7-point advantage, 45-34 entering the fourth quarter.

Leading the way for the Pirates was junior Blake Weirich with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Parker Hovey, a senior, contributed 16 points and 5 rebounds.

Caleb Bitely, another senior, finished the game with 10 points and sixth man Kyan Clark was a great spark on the offensive and defensive ends.

The Pirates don’t have much time to rest and recoup their energy since they must turn around and host Mesick in a non-conference contest on Wednesday night.

Ravenna dropped to 1-3 overall and suffered its first loss in the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division to go to 1-1 in the conference. The Bulldogs host North Muskegon on Thursday.
