GRANT–The Grant Tigers girls’ basketball team made quick work of the Howard City Tri-County Vikings on Friday evening in a 64-25 Central State Activities Association game.
The game was played in Grant.
Grant jumped out to a 27-5 lead after the first eight minutes and went on to lead 39-15 by the half. Grant had a 12-10 scoring advantage in the second stanza.
The Tigers extended their lead to 60-20 by the end of the third period.
“We didn’t play as well as the score leads you to believe,” said Grant coach Josh Delamater. “We were mentally exhausted from another three-game week and that was evident in the second quarter.”
Julie Ashbaugh led Grant with a game-high 18 points while Jayci Hance chipped in 13 points. Makayla Zerlaut tossed in eight points. Five other players scored four points or more.
Grant (9-4, 4-1) will travel to Central Montcalm on Tuesday evening.
