FENNVILLE–The Fruitport Calvary Christian Eagles hit their free throws down the stretch and earned a 77-71 nonconference victory over host Fennville.

The Eagles were able to secure the win as they went 14-of-16 from the free throw line down the stretch. Fennville managed to cut the Calvary Christian lead to three points with 1 minute left in the game.

“I’d rather win ugly than lose pretty” said Calvary Christian coach Brad Richards. “I was proud of our kids for their resiliency to finish at the end. This was a step in the right direction.”

Bradley Richards led the Eagles with 33 points and 17 rebounds. Quinn Swanson chipped in 18 points while Sam Zelenka tossed in 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had nine assists. Gabe VanBaale had a career-high six assists.
