SCOTTVILLE — A big fourth quarter lifted the Mason County Central boys’ basketball team past visiting Ravenna, 58-54, in West Michigan Conference Rivers Division on Friday night.

Will Chye had a standout night for the Spartans with 29 points and 11 rebounds.

Ravenna dominated the first three quarters, outscoring the Spartans, 14-12 in the first quarter and 12-9 in the second to take a 26-21 lead at the half.
 
The Bulldogs had a 20-18 edge in the third period and maintained the lead, 46-39, going into the fourth. The Spartans then outscored the Bulldogs, 19-8 in the final period.
 
Besides Chye, Jayden Perrone had 12 points and 11 rebounds while Dakota Sterley added eight points for MCC.
 
Ravenna’s leading scorers were Wyatt Young with 13 points, Blake Homoly with 10 and Carter Schullo with nine.
 
The Spartans (6-0, 3-0) travels to White Cloud next Tuesday for a non-conference matchup.
 
Ravenna (1-5, 1-2) hosts Manistee on Tuesday.
