WALKERVILLE — Clay Shoup had a big night for the Mason County Eastern boys basketball team Friday.

Shoup scored 43 points as the Cardinals rallied to a 64-53 victory over Walkerville in a West Michigan D League matchup.

MCE managed an early spark by the Wildcats, as both teams settled into a 16-16 tie heading into the second quarter.
 
The Cardinals cooled off in the second quarter and and trailed Walkerville, 29-26 at intermission.
 
Shoup turned the tables in the third quarter for MCE, accounting for 12 points as the Cardinals vaulted to a 46-43 lead to start the four.
 
The Cardinals finished the game on an 18-8 run.
 
Alex Tyndall and Aaron Drake each contributed six points for the Cardinals.
 
Walkerville was led by Connor Shafer with 14 points, while Angel Santillan-Lopez and Collin Chase followed with 12 apiece and Zeontoe Delapaz chipped in 10.
 
Mason County Eastern (2-10, 2-7) will host Bear Lake on Wednesday.

Walkerville (1-10, 1-8) will host Pentwater on Wednesday.
