KENT CITY — The Kent City Eagles turned in a solid performance, especially on the defensive end, on Friday night and defeated visiting Reed City 46-33.

The victory was No. 100 for Ingles during his career at Kent City.

“Our defensive effort was the best it’s been all year,” Ingles said. “We were focused and had energy.”

Reed City led 11-8 after one quarter, but the Eagles turned up the defense in the second quarter and outscored the Coyotes 12-2 to take a 25-13 lead at the half. A 25-20 Eagle run in the second half produced the double-digit victory.

“We still have a way to go, but we are getting better every game,” Ingles said.

Jaret Jaramillo had a solid game for Kent City with 14 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals. Kyler Larson also hit double digits with 13 points. He had six steals.

Kent City travels to Big Rapids on Tuesday.
