FRUITPORT — Ashley Folkema proved to be unstoppable on Tuesday night..

The Western Michigan Christian junior scored 30 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as the visiting Warriors defeated Fruitport Calvary Christian 56-30 in a nonleague game.

Folkema was coming off a 26-point performance in WMC’s last game.

On Tuesday, the Warriors led 15-3 after on quarter and 24-15 the half. In the final quarter, WMC outscored FCC 17-5 to run away with the victory.

WMC’s attack also featured KirstenĀ  VanOrman with eight points and four steals, Mara Eeningenburg with six points and nine rebounds, Brooklyn Watts with six points, seven rebounds and five steals and Brynn Evans with seven rebounds.

“The team played together on offense to find open shots,” said Warrior coach Sarah Koetsier. “Each player scored tonight. It was a great game for the Warriors.”

McKena Wilson poured in 25 points for Fruitport Calvary (1-6).

Western Michigan Christian (5-4) will travel to McBain Northern Michigan Christian on Thursday.

Fruitport Calvary Christian (1-5, 0-0) will hot Hudsonville Libertas Christian next Monday.
