MUSKEGON–The Muskegon Community College men’s Jayhawks team dropped a 66-56 decision to visiting Southwestern Michigan Community College on Wednesday.

MCC had a setback during warmups as they learned starting point guard Jarvin Graham would not be able to play due to a back injury.

The Jayhawks (5-6) raced out of the gate fast, jumping out to a 13-2 lead.

The Roadrunners closed out the first half on a 27-13 run to take a 29-26 lead at the break.

Southwestern Michigan outscored the Jayhawks 37-30 in the second half to secure the 10-point win.

The Roadrunners outrebounded the Jayhawks 48-39.

Vern Nash III led the Jayhawks with 22 points. Tate Stine chipped in 11 points. Jadakiss Lewis tossed in eight points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. Logan Manciu also scored eight points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Jacob May had eight points and eight rebounds.

Tonight, the Jayhawks host the Alma JV squad. Game time is 7 p.m.
