PETOSKEY–The Muskegon Community College Lady Jayhawks came out fast on Saturday and made quick work of North Central Michigan College.

The Lady Jayhawks led 41-16 at the half and cruised to a 77-33 victory in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association contest.

MCC didn’t let up much during the second half by outscoring the home team 12-9 in the third quarter and 24-8 during the final 10 minutes.

The Jayhawks forced the Timberwolves into 28 turnovers while only turning the ball over 11 times. MCC shot 39 percent from the floor while limiting the Timberwolves to just 19 percent.

“I am very excited where our team is headed,” MCC coach Jason C0oper said. “It was a good win on the road today.”

Calla Miller led the Jayhawks with a game-high 23 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Ally Sieber tossed in 17 points and grabbed four rebounds. Karleigh Jeffries chipped in 10 points and five rebounds. Kayla Fisk had 10 points, four assists and three rebounds.

Other key contributors for MCC included Haley Zerlaut with seven points and three assists. Kendall Zoulek had five points, five rebounds and three assists.

The Jayhawks (13-5, 4-1) are in second place in the conference. Next on the schedule is a game in Mount Pleasant on Wednesday against the league-leading Mid-Michigan College Lakers.
