LUDINGTON — In a Coastal Conference dual against Manistee onThursday, the host Ludington boys swimming team finished with a close 91.5-87.5 victory over the Chippewas.

 
Because of low numbers the last few years, Ludington coach Joe Schneider said the Orioles have struggled against the Chippewas.
 
Numbers are up this year, however, and they’re highly competitive with the likes of Manistee.
 
Winners for the Orioles included Ignacio Molina in the 50 freestyle, Ian Lundberg in diving, the 400 freestyle relay (Dylan Sniegowski,  Kyle Wendt, Rowen Vaara, Molina).
 
Manistee picked up victories in the 200-yard medley relay (Alec Lampinen, Henrique Tonoli, Trevor Adamczak, Gress Mandelli), Tug Thuemmel in the 200 freestyle, Adamczak in the 200 individual medley, Adamczak in the 100 butterfly, Drew Mendians in the 100 freestyle, Thuemmel in the 500 freestyle, the 200 freestyle relay (Adamczak Mandelli, Mendians, Lampinen).
 
Also for the Chippewas, first places were recorded by Lampinen in the 100 backstroke and Mendians in the 100 breaststroke.
 
Ludington travels to Fremont next Tuesday.
