RAVENNA — Mason County Central’s girls basketball team had no trouble getting past Ravenna, 37-17, in a West Michigan Conference Rivers Division contest at home Tuesday night.

Scoring was at a premium all night, but it was the Spartans who were more prolific. They opened a 9-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and outscored the Bulldogs, 13-4, in the second to build a 22-6 lead at the half.
 
Mason County had a 7-3 edge in the third quarter and headed into the fourth with a 29-9 advantage. The two teams scored eight points apiece in the final period.
 
Wren Nelson paced the Spartans with 12 points and five rebounds. Mallory Miller added seven points, two assists and two steals. Grace Weinert added four assists, three steals and six rebounds.
 
The Spartans (6-0, 4-0) host Hart in a conference game on Thursday night.

Ravenna (2-4, 1-3) travels to Hesperia for a conference game on Thursday night.
