SCOTTVILLE — Fremont won its second consecutive game Monday night with a 72-61 non-conference victory over Mason County Central in Scottville.

The Spartans gained a six-point lead, 16-10 after the first quarter. But the Packers regrouped during the break between periods and exploded for a big 22-6 second quarter and entered the half with a 32-22 lead.
 
It was the Spartans’ turn in the third quarter, as they outscored the Packers, 22-16 and shaved the Fremont lead down to four, 48-44. Fremont had a 24-17 advantage in the final period.
 
Jordan McDonald scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Packers, while Chaz Miller contributed 20.
 
Will Chye led the Spartans with 19 points, while also hauling down six rebounds and distributing five assists. Jayden Perrone added 17 points and six rebounds.
 
Fremont improved to 6-4 and will host Ravenna on Thursday night in non-conference action.

The Spartans fell to 9-2 overall on the season and will be at home again Wednesday night hosting Catholic Central in another non-conference matchup.
