NORTON SHORES–The No. 3- ranked, Muskegon Big Reds wasted little time in cruising past the Mona Shores Sailors on Friday as they coasted to a 68-25 win in a OK Conference-Green matchup.

The game was played at the Sailor Center at Mona Shores High School.

The Big Reds, who are in Division 1, had a balanced scoring attack as three players finished in double digits and nine players got into the scoring column.

Jordan Briggs led the Big Reds offense with 15 points. Joining him in double digits were Justin Watson with 14 points, including three shots from beyond the arc, and Terrance Davis with a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Watson also grabbed six rebounds.

Muskegon got out to a 12-5 lead after the first eight minutes and extended the lead to 26-12 by the half.

Whatever thoughts the Sailors had of mounting a comeback were quickly dashed in the second half as the Big Reds had a 42-13 scoring edge in the second half.

Muskegon outrebounded the Sailors 40-30. The Big Reds shot 35 percent from the field while the Sailors shot 23 percent. Muskegon went 12-of-25 from the charity stripe. The Big Reds offense continued their hot shooting from long distance as they canned seven 3-pointers.

JT Foster led Mona Shores with a team high 15 points.

Muskegon (12-0, 7-0) will host Reeths-Puffer next Friday.

Mona Shores (4-9, 1-6) will travel to Whitehall on Tuesday.
