TRAVERSE CITY — Third-ranked Ludington trailed Traverse City Central by as much as 19 points in the second half, but rallied to force overtime.

From there, visiting Ludington (13-0) pulled out a thrilling 76-74 non-conference victory.

Ludington’s rally came as the result of David Shillinger’s second-half explosion for 32 points.
 
With the Orioles down two with 11 seconds left, Shillinger fouled out, sending the Trojans to the line for two shots.
 
EJ MarHard knocked down the first, but missed the second and Gage Jones buried a 3-point shot at the buzzer to send the game to overtime.
 
The Orioles took their first lead of the game at the start of overtime as Levi Laman scored on a layup.
 
With the score tied with 1:31 remaining in overtime, Ludington held the ball for the last shot and Kol Anthes dropped off a pass to Laman in the paint and he scored the winning basket with 2 seconds left.
 
Ludington trailed 24-10 at the end of the first and was outscored 19-16 in the second for a 43-26 halftime deficit.
 
Fueled by Shillinger’s offensive fireworks, the Orioles charged back, outscoring the Trojans 19-7 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to five, 50-45 going into the fourth quarter. The Orioles had a 25-20 edge in a wild fourth period to tie the game, 70-70.
 
Shillinger poured in 35 points for the Orioles, with Spencer Holmes adding 14.  Jones added seven points and seven assists.
 
Traverse City was led by Anthony Ribel with 31 points while Landen Miller scored 12.
 
Ludington (13-0, 6,0) will host Cadillac next Monday.
