SPRING LAKE – The Spring Lake boys swimming team hosted their 17th annual invitational on Saturday.
The Lakers finished runner-up behind Northview.
Northview took first with a score of 667, Spring Lake took second with a score of 338, Manistee was third with 297, Ludington earned fourth with 286 and Muskegon placed fifth with 241.
“We still had a handful of silly mistakes, but far fewer than a month ago,” said head coach Nick Zacek. “We’re fine-tuning well as we carry into the final half of the season of conference and state.”
Noah Fletcher claimed first place in the 200 IM and 500 free while also earning a state cut in the 100 free.
Jonah VanDreumel came in fourth place in the 11 dives.
“There were about a couple dozen season best and personal best performances performed on our home turf to secure the runner-up finish which felt great,” Zacek said.
Garrison Babcock swam to personal bests in the 50 free by 1.57 seconds and 100 free by 2.32 seconds. Matthew Daudelin posted a personal best in the 200 free by 12.98 seconds.
