HUDSONVILLE –The Spring Lake Lakers girls basketball team dropped a heartbreaking 45-43 OK Conference-Blue contest to Hudsonville Unity Christian on Tuesday evening.
The Lakers missed a couple of crucial shots with seconds left in the contest.
Both teams battled back and forth with neither having more than a five-point lead at any time.
Spring Lake was down just two points with 10 seconds left, but failed to convert opportunities to tie up the action or to go ahead.
Brooke Bolthouse was 10-of-12 from the free-throw line and had a team high 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Ella Andree chipped in seven points and snagged three steals. Alexa Carter grabbed seven rebounds and chipped in six points.
Spring Lake (4-4, 1-3) will host Hamilton on Friday.
