MUSKEGON – The Spring Lake boys swim and dive team wrapped up a grueling stretch with a strong win on Monday evening.

The Lakers claimed victory over the Greater Muskegon co-op swim and dive team, 96-70.

“Given this brutal meet schedule over the past 5 days, tonight was a fun way to bring it home,” said Laker coach Nick Zacek. “Tonight was mainly a fun way to throw our swimmers into vastly different events to see where any hidden strengths lie.”

Jonah VanDreumel took the top spot in the arm stand dive and made the cut for MHSAA regionals.

Kyle Bajt finished first in the 100 free while Tyler Nutt won the 500 free.

Fisher Halsey claimed a first place in the 100 breast.

“We’re all looking forward to having a solid amount of practice time before our meet next week,” Zacek said. “It’s hard to think we only have four meets left before our conference championship.”

Spring Lake will travel to Holland on Tuesday, Jan. 24. The Lakers will swim at the Holland Aquatic Center.

The Greater Muskegon co-op team will be at Fremont on Thursday.
