WYOMING –The Reeths-Puffer boys’ basketball team used a big fourth quarter to put away Wyoming in an OK Conference-Green game on Friday.

The Rockets came away with a 66-53 win.

“It was a much-needed win and we had great energy and grit from our entire team,” said Coach Nathan Aardema.

Reeths-Puffer jumped out to a 17-12 first-quarter lead only to see the Wolves cut into the lead by ooutscoring the Rockets 18-15 in the second stanza.  Reeths-Puffer led 32-30 at the half.

Wyoming grabbed the lead by the end of third quarter with a 11-7 scoring advantage.

Travis Ambrose and Jaxson Whitaker combined for 20 of the Rockets’ 27 fourth-quarter points to secure the win as Reeths-Puffer racked up a 27-12 scoring advantage during the final eight minutes.

Whitaker led the Rockets with 30 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter while Ambrose tossed in 15 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter. Tayte Vanderleest chipped in nine points.

Reeths-Puffer (4-4, 1-2) will travel to Zeeland East on Tuesday.
