WHITEHALL–The Whitehall Vikings boys basketball team won a West Michigan Conference-Lakes contest against the visiting Fremont Packers on Tuesday evening, 56-41.

Fremont led 15-14 at the end of the first quarter. After that, the Whitehall offense kicked into high gear as they outscored Fremont 15-3 in the second stanza to take a 29-18 halftime lead.

The Vikings extended their lead to 46-26 by the end of the third period with a 17-8 scoring advantage in the quarter.

Fremont held the upper hand, 15-10, in the final eight minutes.

Kal Koehler led the Whitehall offense with 14 points while Ca’mar Ready tossed in 13 points. Jack Houtteman chipped in 10 points. Trannon Aylor led Whitehall with eight rebounds while Koehler and Ready each grabbed six boards.

Whitehall (7-4, 4-1) will travel to Orchard View on Friday.

Fremont (4-4, 2-3) will host Manistee on Friday.
