MUSKEGON — The visiting Whitehall Vikings wasted no time gaining the upper hand on the Oakridge Eagles on Thursday night by a score of 68-46.

The Vikings raced out to an 18-7 lead after one quarter and extended it to 35-16 at the half.  Whitehall outscored Oakridge 36-30 in the second half.

From there, Whitehall cruised to the West Michigan Conference victory over Oakridge.

DJ Jamison led the Vikings with 19 points, including four 3-pointers. Cam Thompson scored 10 points and posted 16 rebounds. Jack Houtteman added 10 points and five steals to the Viking attack.

Peyton Ruel was the lone Eagle to reach double figures with 11 points. Ryan Cribbins added seven points. Evan Miller and Evan Jozsa added six points each.

Oakridge travels to Shelby on Friday night.

Whitehall visits Orchard View on Friday night.
