SCOTTVILLE — This one was close all the way.

A red-hot Montague boys squad extended its winning streak to four games with a 63-60 win over Mason County Central on Tuesday.
 
Visiting Montague edged ahead, 15-14, at the end of the first quarter and then outscored the Spartans, 17-14 in the second to build a 32-28 edge at the half.
 
The Spartans regrouped at the half and came out charged up for the third quarter. A 14-9 edge in scoring gave MCC a 42-41 lead. The Wildcats prevailed by outscoring the Spartans, 22-18, in a wild final eight minutes.
 
Owen Raeth led the Wildcats with 15 points. Isaiah Atchison added 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds while Paul Olson and Owen Peterson scored 11 points apiece.
 
Jayden Perrone scored 22 points to lead the Spartans, while Will Chye knocked down 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had four assists.
 
Montague (8-5, 4-2) will host Orchard View on Friday.
 
Mason County Central (10-3, 5-1) will host North Muskegon on Friday night.
