LUDINGTON — A hot start propelled the Ludington boys’ basketball team to a convincing 85-61 non-conference win over Mason County Central in Hawley Gym on Tuesday night.

The score got out of hand after the Orioles opened a 27-12 lead after one quarter and the Spartans never got back in the game. Ludington led, 49-24, at the half ,72-40 after three.
 
Matthew Westhouse had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds and had five blocks. David Shillinger also scored 18 points and Spencer Holmes added 17.
 
Will Chye paced the Spartans with 15 points and Jayden Perrone contributed 14.
 
Ludington (17-2) travels to Manistee for a West Michigan Conference-Lakes Division clash on Thursday.

Mason County Central (14-5) returns to West Michigan Conference-Rivers Division play Thursday night at Hart.
