SCOTTVILLE — Wren Nelson scored 18 points and gathered in 12 rebounds to lead the Mason County Central girls’ basketball team Monday night.

Nelson was one of three Spartans to score in double figures in a convincing 62-49 non-conference victory over visiting Fruitport Calvary Christian.
 
Mallory Miller netted 15 points and dished out three assists and Charlie Banks scored 13 points and had four assists as the Spartans won their third straight game.
 
The Spartans finished the first quarter with a 10-5 advantage, and outscored Fruitport, 17-10 in the second to build a 12-point cushion, 27-15, at halftime.
 
Outscoring Calvary, 23-16 in the third quarter spread the Spartans’ margin out to 19 points, 50-31, going into the fourth quarter. Fruitport had an 18-12 edge in the final eight minutes.
 
Nora Pollock matched Nelson in scoring with 18 points for Calvary, while McKena Wilson finished with 17.
 
Mason County Central (17-3) returns to action Thursday for a non-conference game at Evart.

Calvary Christian (9-11, 4-2 Alliance League) travels to Wyoming Potters House Christian (15-6, 6-0 Alliance League) on Wednesday.
