MUSKEGON — Ludington exploded with a huge second quarter and breezed to a 69-31 West Michigan Conference Lakes Division victory over Orchard View on Tuesday night.

The victory secured a tie for the conference title for the Orioles.
 
The Orioles had ended the first quarter with a 14-10 edge. But the Orioles pretty much ended doubt of the outcome when they outscored the Cardinals, 28-4, in the second quarter and took a 42-14 lead into the half.
 
Chase Hackert drilled a buzzer-beating 3-point shot in the third quarter. In all, the Orioles made four 3-pointers in the quarter and led 60-22.
 
Ludington’s David Shillinger fired in 21 points to lead all scorers. Spencer Holmes contributed 12 points and Matthew Westhouse had 10.
 
Decarion Flowers scored 10 for OV and Delaney Oakes had nine.
 
Ludington (19-2, 11-1 WMC Lakes) is at Benzie Central for a non-conference game Thursday night.
 
Orchard View (2-18, 1-9 WMC Lakes) returns to action Thursday night with a road trip to Whitehall.
