MUSKEGON–A scoring outburst in the second half propelled the Oakridge Eagles to a 67-44 West Michigan Conference Lakes Division win over rival Orchard View on Friday evening

Both offenses got off to slow starts as Oakridge led 9-5 after the opening quarter and 25-13 at halftime.

Both offenses kicked things into high gear during the third period as Oakridge held a 23-21 scoring advantage and carried a 48-34 lead into the fourth quarter. The Eagles slammed the door shut in the final quarter with a 19-10 scoring surge.

Matt Danicek led all scorers with 18 points. Peyton Ruel poured in 16 points, dished out seven assists, and had three steals. Evan Miller added 12 points, six rebounds and three assists. Evan Jozsa grabbed 10 rebounds while Ty Maitland pulled down seven boards.

The Cardinals were led by Delaney Oakes with 10 points. Decarion Flowers added nine points.

Oakridge (8-10, 5-5) travels to Ravenna on Tuesday.

Orchard View (2-16, 1-8) plays at Muskegon Heights on Tuesday.
