NEWAYGO–The Newaygo Lions, led by Bryce Decker, cruised past the Chippewa Hills Warriors on Friday evening, 69-50.

The game was played in the Central State Activities Association.

With the victory, Newaygo improves to (12-7, 7-3) and will travel to Hart on Saturday afternoon to meet the undefeated Pirates (19-0).

On Friday evening, Decker led the way for Newaygo with a game-high 35 points and 10 rebounds. Josiah Long added 12 points while Caris Nelson dished out six assists.

The Lions struggled to score during the early stages of the game, however, built a 12-point lead by the end of the first half.

Newaygo continued to extend its lead during the third and fourth quarters to secure the win.
