HOLTON — The North Muskegon Norsemen started strong offensively then struggled to the final buzzer on Tuesday night in Holton.

But in the end, the Norsemen earned themselves a 51-28 victory over the host Red Devils.

“We got out to a good night shooting, but it went down from there,” North Muskegon coach Chuck Rypstra said. “We played good defense all night and that carried us through some not to good shooting.”

The Norsemen led 17-7 after on quarter and 34-20 at the half. The offense put up just 17 points in the second half, but limited Holton to just eight.

Lamarkis Graham led North Muskegon with 19 points. Sam Gallo added 11 points. Troy McManus scored seven points and pulled down nine rebounds. Carsen Moat had five rebound.

Holton was led by Broderick Fialek with 12 points. Carter Brandt also reached double figures with 10 points.

North Muskegon (17-4, 9-3) begins tournament play next Wednesday night against the winner of Monday’s game between Ravenna and Western Michigan Christian.
 
Holton (1-20, 1-10) will host udefeated Hart on Thursday.
