LOWELL – The Fremont boys and girls wrestling team pushed forward five wrestlers to compete in the MHSAA state finals next weekend.
Michael Romero dominated and won a regional crown with a record of 3-0. All three victories were by pin.
Tee Ward qualified with a runner-up finish at 138 pounds while Trey Myers claimed third place and went 3-1 on the day.
The girls traveled to Grayling for the individual round of regionals.
Ella Shields earned a spot on the podium with a second-place finish at 125 pounds. Rylee Wright made the cut at 140 pounds with a fourth-place spot.
Killian Prewitt (126) and Briar Hambrock (285) had solid days, but fell short of the cut along with Maya Hambrock.
The individual state finals will be held at Ford Field on March 3 and March 4.
