FRUITPORT — The Fruitport Trojans were plagued by offensive woes on Friday night and suffered a 48-33 loss to the visiting Coopersville Broncos.

Coopersville led 10-3 after one quarter and 18-12 at the half. By the end of the third quarter, the Broncos had a double-digit lead at 39-22.

“Credit to Coopersville tonight, as we struggled for a few too many stretches of the game,” Fruitport coach Steve Erny said. “We played especially hard and tough in the first half, just could not find the net. Our defense kept us within reach, but I think the offensive struggles wore us down and Coopersville was able to pull away.”

Andrew Spyke led Fruitport with 10 points. Collin Jolman added eight and Bode Anspach had six.

Fruitport (10-6, 6-4) will host Fremont in a make-up game on Monday.
