Grand Haven wins, advances to district semifinals against Muskegon

GRAND HAVEN — The host Grand Haven Bucs are heading to the next round of the Division 1 district tournament after defeating Mona Shores, 41-24 on Monday night.

The Bucs (13-9) will take on the Muskegon Big Reds at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kenowa Hills High School.

Maddie Schopf led Grand Haven with 13 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Grace Harrison and Emerson Berndt added seven points each and Heidi Berkey had six. Berndt added eight points and Gillian Sorrelle had four steals.

Mona Shores was led by Ali Phillips, Addison Fisher and Maddie Russell with five points each.
