WHITE CLOUD–The Hart boys basketball team showed grit on a night where shots were not falling in a 62-45 win over White Cloud in a Tuesday night non-conference battle.

One thing that hasn’t changed this season nobody has had a defensive answer for the one-two offensive punch of Hart senior Parker Hovey or junior Blake Weirich.

Hovey continued his strong all-around play scoring a team leading 32 points in a variety of ways.  He also had 10 rebounds, seven assists, and an astounding five blocked shots. Weirich continued his consistent play with 18 points, and a season high 15 rebounds.  Wyatt Dean led the defensive charge with five steals.

Hart jumped out to a 19-10 lead after the first eight minutes of action and increased their lead to 32-18 by the halftime break.

White Cloud was forced to play catchup ball the entire second half and the Pirates kept on increasing their lead as they led 46-29 at the end of three quarters of play. Both team put up 16 points apiece during the fourth quarter.

Hart (14-0, 6-0) will travel down to Shelby on Friday.

White Cloud (7-6, 4-3) will host Newaygo on Friday.
