WHITE CLOUD — It wasn’t the prettiest of performances for Holton on Tuesday night, but it was good enough to earn a 38-30 victory over the host White Cloud Indians.

“This was an ugly one for us and we really couldn’t get anything going on offense outside of Ryann Robins’ 18 points,” said Holton coach Robert Jordan. “Credit to White Cloud, It just felt like they were dominating the rebounding margin.  It kept them in the game for sure They just wouldn’t go away and made it a game in the fourth.”

Holton hit a couple 3-pointers and some free throws in crucial times and escaped with the victory.

Holton’s Layla Cannady scored all seven of her points in the final period. Abbie Fowler had seven assist and five steals and handled the press.

“We shot the ball terribly and didn’t rebound at all, so we are lucky to get out of there with a win,” Jordan said. “We will need to clean up a lot and get ready for a big game against Shelby on Friday.” That game is at Holton.

Holton (9-8, 4-5) will host Shelby on Friday.

White Cloud (8-8, 4-4) is at Morley-Stanwood on Friday.
