WYOMING–The 1-2 offensive punch of Addi Hovey and Addy Hicks carried the Hart Pirates over Wyoming Potter’s House Christian on Monday evening, 44-26.

The two teams were finally able to play against each other after having the game previously canceled twice.

Hovey and Hicks combined for 36 of the Pirates’ 44 points. Hovey led the way with a game-high 19 points. She also had 12 rebounds. Hovey also added three assists and three steals. Hicks, also had a double-double with 17 points and 12 steals. She rounded out the night with four assists and four rebounds.

Mariana VanAgtmael hauled down six rebounds and contributed four steals. Hart coach Travis Rosema cited Aspen Boutell for her excellent defense for the Pirates.

Both teams struggled to get anything going in the first quarter, which saw Hart finish with an 8-3 lead. The Pirates were able to generate some momentum during the second stanza and went into halftime with a 22-10 lead.

Hart put some distance between themselves and the Pumas with a 13-4 scoring advantage during the third period and carried a 35-14 lead into the fourth quarter.

Hart (14-2, 8-0) is back in action tonight (Tuesday) as they will travel to North Muskegon.
