KENT CITY–In a rare Saturday afternoon contest, the Kent City girls’ basketball team made quick work of the Brethren Bobcats.

The host Eagles won the non-conference game, 59-25.

Kent City wasted little time determining the outcome of the contest. They raced to a 23-4 lead after one quarter. They increased their lead to 37-8 by the half by outscoring Brethren 14-4 during the second stanza.

The Eagles held third and fourth quarter scoring advantages of 12-11 and 10-6.

Kent City connected on 11 shots from beyond the arc while also dishing out a total of 19 assists on 22 made field goals.

Lexie Bowers led Kent City with 22 points, seven assists and five steals. Maddie Geers tossed in 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds and had four steals. Alyssa Miller chipped in eight points, three rebounds and two steals. Savannah Miller dished out four assists.
 
Stella Estes led Brethren with six points.
 
Kent City (15-3, 7-1) will host Central Montcalm on Friday.
