KENT CITY — On a night when the Kent City Eagles’ shooting was less than stellar, the Eagles were able to survive.

Kent City defeated Central Montcalm 59-45.

“It was an ugly shooting night for us,” Eagle coach Dave Ingles said. “Luckily, we made enough to win.”

Kent City made just 7-of-17 from the line and missed a number of layups.

Kent City led 21-9 after one quarter and 30-16 the half.

“We were solid on defense in stretches, but need to get more consistent,” said Ingles, whose team is missing Kyler Larson, who is out with an injury. “It has given other guys a chance to step up. Jake Perry and Josh Anderson have done a nice job.”

Seth Vanderwest led Kent City with 13 points and nine rebounds. Dylan Sutton added 13 points.
