CUSTER — The Mason County Eastern girls’ basketball team mounted a second-half comeback to defeat Cadillac Heritage Christian, 40-37, in non-conference action.

 
Eastern was outscored, 9-3 in the first quarter, but came back to take the second period and entered the half with a 17-15 deficit.
 
The Cardinals were outscored, 18-16 in the third quarter and saw the deficit grow to four points, 35-31.
 
The Cardinals rallied for a 9-2 fourth quarter to pull out the victory.
 
Deanna Codman recorded a double-double for the Cardinals with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Maria Gomez-Jimmenez had 11 points, six rebounds and  two blocked shots.
 
Regan Farmer scored a game-high 20 points for Heritage (2-8).
 
Eastern (9-12) is scheduled to play Thursday at Walkerville in the West Michigan D League.
